Part time business research assistant. hours are flexible. But you must be available when I need you. Work in our office and/or from home. Duties will vary, but I need a person who is detail compulsive, organized, can follow up on leads and will pers
evere when told 'no.' I need someone who can dig for information and is not afraid to push when doors seem to close on you. Projects that I am involved in include real estate development, an internet project, book research. The duties will be quite varied...sometimes boring research, sometimes interacting with local officials, or even interacting and getting information from a national company. Some duties will include sales and marketing. Experience is less important to me than determination and dedication and stubbornness. But you must be people oriented and present well to others and be persuasive. People personality is a plus.

Science and technology market research company in Silicon Valley seeks a market research assistant to provide desk-based industry research, list development to support research, and recruiting as needed in North America for telephone-based interviews with
analytical chemistry and life sciences professionals. If skilled, conduct interviews using our proprietary methodology. This is NOT sales, but research. Work can be done remotely from a home office. This is a contract position.
We are looking for someone with the requisite skills and background, a self-starter and team-player who can bring commitment and the highest quality of work and integrity to this research. You must have a commitment to quality and meeting deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher in a business or social sciences field, with a strong science/engineering background or coursework.
Experience with and innovative with Web-based research. Ability to analyze and synthesize results at a collegiate level.
Experience with or knowledge of market research principles and practices. You must know, for example, what market segmentation is, general purchase dynamics in complex organizations, and the difference between qualitative and quantitative research.
Must have speaking and writing skills in English (native or near-native proficiency).
Interviewing and/or technical experience with professional telephone presence. Tact and ability to talk with highly degreed technical people from diverse cultural backgrounds required.
Must have basic computer skills and computer with broadband connection and telephone. Experience with MS Word and Excel.
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
DETAILS
Contract to be negotiated. Typically excellent pay for outstanding work. Should you advance to interviewing, pay will be increased commensurately. This will be challenging -- don't think of it as easy money -- but a perfect opportunity for someone who wishes to have intellectually stimulating part-time work, learn a lot, and explore a new opportunity. No travel required.
You will work with a team of senior researchers, and, due to the nature of market research, contracts will vary from quarter to quarter. Our senior researchers have worked with the company for years. We would hope to develop a strong multi-year business relationship.
