It Staffing Agencies Please Read World Wide
Click here to get more details & Apply to this job03/23/2012
It has come to my attention that there are some staffing agencies out there that are behind the times and technologies needed to service their clients and the candidates that they obtain. So I decided to write this note to help you get up to speed with
ethics, policy, and acceptable practices.
1. Make sure that you list all pertinent information about the job in the posting. List information about requirements, what kind of things in their background could or would disqualify them from working for the client, rate of pay, dress code, and anything else that may preclude a smooth transition. Do your primary screening before you do anything. Make sure that the person that you are looking to bring into your organization has the skills, knowledge, and aptitude to perform on the job that is offered. Make sure that you get all the information about the candidate that you need before going too far.
2. Make sure that you have properly bided for the position. Many of the IT Professionals are not going to work for Pennies, I.E. $10-$15 an hour and accept that they have to have BS, AS, AA, MBA, and Masters degrees. Understand that these companies are enlisting your services because they really don't want to be reputed as slave drivers or slave camps. Most of all remember that only get what you pay for. So if pay peanuts and bananas, you are going to get monkeys and squirrels .
3. You do not need your candidates to come in to your office to fill out paper work, i.e, Employment Applications, I-9, 1099, W-4, and hand books. You can and should have all of these forms converted into Word or PDF documents that are editable. Send these forms to them in email and ask them to make a copy of their Identification, fill out all the forms, and either scan them in and email them back to you or fax them back to you. There are many of us that have had quite a few jobs due to the economy, lay offs, and budget cuts. This saves time money and energy on both sides as well as keeping your candidates from traveling to you especially when you are located a couple of cities away. This also makes you look more professional, and it makes you look like you care about their finances and the state of our economy with the gas prices going up. This will make other Professionals will want to work with you. This will also help you to retain your resources i.e. "IT Professionals." Remember it makes no sense to have someone come in for a face to face if you don't have a job for them to go on immediately.
4. It is a good idea to make sure that you keep in contact with your resources and let them know about any updates as you get them. This helps them to feel more part of the process and organization.
5. It is always a plus when you know what type of interview questions are going to be asked of your resources so if you can get a list of the general questions or the topics that are going to be discussed during the interview your candidates can better prepare themselves for the face to face interview with your clients. Ultimately the more you help your candidates shine the better you and your organization look.
6. Become familiar with the terminology and type of work that you are sending your resources/candidates out to do. It actually pays and helps you understand what it is that they will be doing so that you can let them know what kind of environment they will be working in. This also allows you to bid correctly for the job. Make sure that you know exactly where the work site is located so that you can give directions if someone gets lost. Yes, there are GPS enabled phones, and GPS devices that most people have. However, we do have some people who lag behind when it comes to technology.
7. Above all remember that if you want your resources and candidates to be professional you have to remember to be professional. Make sure that they have their checks on time. Offer direct deposit, as this cuts down on paper and ink. Use the technology that is available to you. Make sure that you send off your email correspondence in a timely manner and if you have Microsoft Outlook use it and all of its features including the meeting request application. If you don't know how to use these features or don't know about them, get someone in to train your staff how to use it. Remember you have to spend money to make money and being efficient saves time and money.
8. If you are a school or training facility, don't post "Many of the top employers in the Triangle area utilize us to help staff their IT departments. Some of our hiring partners are currently looking for individuals to fill Level I and Level II Help Desk and Tech Support positions. Positions require a range of experience from no IT experience to those individuals with 1-3 years experience in IT. Positions and projects are based on individual skills, knowledge and abilities." You are a training facility and you waste people's time , money, energy, and limited resources by being deceitful and leading people to believe that you actually have a job waiting for them when you are actually trying to get them to come to your training facilities and spend money. You make promises and offers of being able to help them get the certifications and training, and fail to tell them that it is all contingent on them being able to get a loan or pay for the training. This will actually make people not want to deal with you if and when they do get the money to get their certifications.

Software Support Work From Home Your Home In Denver Metro
Click here to get more details & Apply to this job03/21/2012
We are a Denver based software company in search of a qualified individual who can provide helpdesk support for our products. The position is for a PART TIME position that can easily grow into a FULL TIME position if you desire, otherwise you can stay as
a part time employee and we can bring on additional staff as needed.
This is an excellent growth opportunity as we are expanding our client base by leaps and bounds and if you desire you would be in a unique position to be the head of our support team.
An ideal candidate would have at least two years of helpdesk experience being able to assist clients over the phone using tools such as GoToAssist, GoToMeeting and Remote Desktop. You must own a computer and have high-speed Internet in order to provide remote support. We will provide you with a server connected to our VPN, a firewall and a business telephone system. While you can use any Mac or PC to provide support, you must be able to run Microsoft Windows 7 in order to maintain a test environment for the software. You must be fluent in english and easy to understand as our client base tend to be non computer savvy people. If you have an SQL background or experience running SQL queries that is of value to us.
This position currently requires NO face time with clients, work at home in your pajamas if you like! We are a very easy going, low key firm that does not believe in micro-managing our employees, you will have a job to do and we expect you can do this with little to no supervision.
Please be willing to commit a schedule once you determine what that schedule is so we can maintain a predictable support environment. You can choose your blocks of time so long as they are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. How much you earn will be very much up to you as you will determine how many hours per week you wish to work. While we initially will set a cap of 25 hours a week based on our current support needs, there will be opportunities now and in the future to go beyond that. Unless you are highly qualified, the position starts at $18.00 per hour, if you prove to be an asset to our team and can show that you are able to work without supervision from home successfully we are willing to renegotiate this after three months.
We also maintain a full computer support team, if you wish to earn additional income as an on-site I.T. support person we can supplement your income further by parceling out work to you in this regard as well.
We look forward to talking to qualified individuals!
